Software I use, gadgets I love, and other things I recommend.
Here's a big list of all of my favorite stuff.
Workstation
14” MacBook Pro, M1
I was using an M1 MacBook Pro prior to this and the difference is night and day. I’ve never heard the fans turn on a single time, even under the incredibly heavy loads I put it through with our various launch simulations.
Apple Magic Trackpad
Something about all the gestures makes me feel like a wizard with special powers. I really like feeling like a wizard with special powers.
MSI Optix G27C7 27″ FHD 165Hz Curved Gaming Monitor
I’m using the MSI Optix G27C7 at my desk — a 27-inch curved display that’s built for gaming but perfect for my daily frontend work too. The 165Hz refresh rate makes everything feel ultra-smooth, and the curve keeps me focused.
HyperX Cloud II Gaming Headset
I’ve been using the HyperX Cloud II for both work and play, and it’s been a reliable companion.
Software
Visual Studio Code (VS Code)
VS Code is my go-to editor for everything — from building React apps to tweaking small scripts. It’s super fast, easy to set up, and just feels good to use.
iTerm2
I’m honestly not even sure what features I get with this that aren’t just part of the macOS Terminal but it’s what I use.
Figma
I'm not a designer but it allows me to quickly mock up interfaces and play with my ideas. One day I'll learn how to use it properly.
Notion
I use Notion for a lot of things, but mostly for keeping track of all of my ideas and notes. It’s a great way to keep everything in one place and it’s super easy to use.
Productivity
Raycast
Raycast is one of those tools I didn’t think much about at first, but now I use it constantly. It’s way faster and more useful than Spotlight — I use it to open apps, search files, check my calendar, and even run little scripts. It just sits there quietly, making everything smoother. Once you get used to it, it’s hard to go back.
